One of the neatest sites in Palm Springs is the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway. Located southwest of Palm Springs it carries you from the Valley Station located just above the valley floor at 2,643ft up to the Mountain Station at 8,516ft. On top of the mountain is a visitors center with gift shops and a restaurant that provides access to dozens of hiking trails. When we visited in January the temperature at the valley station was in the seventies while it was snowing at the summit.
