While visiting Palms Springs over New Years we stumbled onto this natural preserve northeast of the city. The Coachella Valley Preserve is an oasis out in the desert that has been set aside by the state and is open to visitors. It is a beautiful location with hiking trails and wildlife. It is worth the side trip if you are ever in Palm Springs.
